Chargers struggle against young cross-town rival

Men chargers basketball hosted a home basketball game at the Tyson event center against cross-town rival Morningside Mustangs in the CNOS classic. The classic has been done for the past 5 years as each team host a home a game in the event center. The chargers were currently on a 4 game winning streak against the mustangs and looked to continue the streak. The referees were calling the first half seem to back and forth as both teams were not shooting the ball well, and a lot of fouls. The Chargers top scorers Chase Vander Feen, Matt Geelan, and Brenton Brown combined for a total of 11 points. Brown said in a statement “it just wasn’t are game we usually make are buckets, but they just wouldn’t fall for us today. “ The Chargers kept the game close in the second half but it just wasn’t enough as forward Garth Hamilton and Guard Kevin Zoz led the mustangs with 12 points apiece. Final score of the game was Chargers 71 Mustangs 77. The Chargers look to get back on track as they host Mount Marty at the Flanagan Center Wednesday night.
